removing subzero tank
well, I'd search for this, but as we all know its down. Anyway, I just want a simple answer on this, I'd like to avoid a big discussion if possible. I'm finally getting around to yanking the subzero starting tank on the 83 S and just want to confirm something. Is it as simple as just unplugging it form the wiring harness, removing it, and plugging the hole on the carb? or is there more to it? do i have to do something about the wiring or just leave it hanging there? TIA
Unplug it, unplug the hose, follow the hose back to the carb, cap off the line into it, and pull the tank off the fender. End of story... no longer does your subzero tank take up useful engine compartment space... doing nothing...

it's useless... if the motor DOES work, the line's probably plugged up... and if the line's not plugged up, it really doesn't do anything anyways, because it only works below 30* Farenheit and I don't think your carb would freeze up anyways... unless you hosed it down with water the night before.
I ripped mine off like a day after I got my new engine in.... haven't missed it since...

yea, its useless, the motor on mine is solid rust, and the bottom of the tank is full of scum, i'm sure the line is clogged too. Its one of the many stupid things mazda felt it nessesary to put on our cars. It's dumb, and I need that space for something else I plan on installing someday, so out it goes.

Mine are off too on all three cars though I still have them laying around in the shop. On all of them, the motors are rusted and corroded. Useless, take it off.

Yea, it might be a little hard to get out, mine seemed to be stuck, but if you wiggle it around it should come free. After I started this thread I thought about it and kinda figured it would turn out long, oh well, its fine maybe It will help some people since we can't search.
