Removing rear wiper?
Anyone ever removed your rear wiper? Mine doesn't work and, (not sure why) and because I haven't put much time into fixing it, I'm considering removing it. I like the idea of cleaning up the look of my car and I think I would just use grommets or the existing nut/bolt/cap to seal the holes. Also, I don't drive it in the rain. (I live in Oregon - How much sense does that make?!?) Has anyone done this? Clue me in, please.

I did the same, even if it worked I ripped it off. Those suckers are heavy. All I did was I took two chunks of bicycle inner tube and used them as a "gromet" or seal on both sides of the glass and put a bolt thru the glass. Just don't tighten too much or CRACK!
I also have a 79 rear hatch glass on one of my parts cars without the hole for the wiper that I wanna put on my 85. Just cleans it up a bit.

Hatch strut buttons
All you need is a couple of spare oval-head fittings that are used for the hatch struts, with gaskets. I have done this before, and I live in western Washington. But I don't deliberately drive this RX-7 in the rain, and certainly never in the snow.
The buttons are pretty obvious in the photo because of the reflection at this angle, but normally not very noticeable. I have also used these buttons to replace rusted ones on the glass sunroof.
