removing gauge cluster
I've unscrewed the stock gauge cluster and it's moving around freely inside of the dashboard, but I can't seem to find a way to get it out. Anyone out there have any ideas, or remove one of these before without taking out the dashboard?

To gain more space, drop the steering column by unbolting it from the dash frame (2 bolts: 10mm or 12mm IIRC). Drop means, you can lean or put pressure on the steerign wheel and you should be able to pull it out.
Also, to speed up the installation, unscrew the speedo cable from the tranny. Pull out the gauge cluster. You should have enough room to remove the wire harness and speedo cable. Installation is reverse.

there's a small tab that has to be depressed to get the cable to release. be careful not to break it. there are also i believe four connectors that are on teh back of the cluster that will be holding it back into the dash. once you get the speedo cable unplugges, you'll find it eaiser to unplug the connectors for the gauges.

Thanks, I'll give that a try. My problem is that my tach, voltmeter, gas gauge, and temp gauge aren't working. I fugre it's got to be a bad positive connection (the only one they asll share according to the fsm). Any ideas on that?
