Removing brake booster rod

How do I remove this? I finally got the brake booster and MC off, got the MC off
now. The rod that goes into the brake MC is out already, you just twist it off it's
threads. The back side (where it bolts to the pedal) doesn't seem to be coming off,
and I have no clue how to! The arm and the nut came off no problem, but under this
rod is a spring that pushes it. Anyone know how to get this apart, short of ripping
apart the booster?

I'm no expert here, but I had my Mazda FSM out and it looks like you've got to take the entire booster apart...

Looked in the FSM (strangely, a part I haven't downloaded) and apparently I am supposed to
put the MC side into a vice and use a propeller from an airplane to twist it off

Looks like I will be going to Lowes tomorrow and find out what the thread size is for this rod.
There will be no way I can get that rod out of this rusted booster.

Thanks guys!

Interesting....the one on my -SE just came right out with a little tug when I swapped out my master cylinder....but that was also shorty before the diaphragm failed.

Hmm.. my rod also just sort of fell out when I took off the master (that sounds dirty). I haven't put it back together yet...so i guess I should be sourcing some parts (again).
