Relocated charcoal canister but forgot which line is which?

Okay, when i got my car there was no fuel vapor charcoal canister, i have one now and relocated it under the car by the fuel pump.

I think the larger line goes in to the larger pipe on the can from vent atop the gas tank, this is correct right?

But where does the smaller pipe on top of the can go to?

Please help, all you gotta do is go out to your car and give me a check see.

On a side note, i have all of my emissions removed and i am running a simplified Mikuni carb setup, so i dont really have many vacuum lines anymore, pretty much the only holes left are the ones that are open at the vacuum advance pots and the engine block vent under the oil filler tube vent.

Car is jacked up and i want to put this back together today, so please help.

Sorry for the double post, but when i was under the car i noticed two lines that came off the gas tank vent, one was smaller than the other, so i hooked both of those vents up to the charcoal canister. After that i unscrewed my gas cap and i got the pssst pressurized noise that told me i did something right... right?

So again i just hooked both vent outlets from the gas tank to the two inlets on the charcoal canister, somebody please chime in if this is not correct

Wait what? Underneath the car there is a vent thing it has two lines coming off from it, one is slightly smaller than the other.

So you are saying that i should run the small tube to the canister and then run the large tube directly from the vent all the way to the motor? Then i would only have one tube going into the canister?

As it sits right now i just took both hoses coming out of the vent and hooked them both up to the canister, will this not work or have ill effects?

Again can some one please tell me if there are any ill effects as with the way i have it setup right now?

Both hoses were just vented to the air when i got the car, now the two hoses that are coming off the gas tank vent fitting are now both going into the canister.

The intermediate plate has a nipple right near the oil fill tube. Not the nipple on the tube. It's the one down a bit lower in the iron itself. This nipple requires a hose running over to the large fitting on the charcoal canister. The small fitting on the carcoal cansiter runs to the tank.

That should be enough to get you started. If you're trying to do something custom, you must first understand how it's supposed to work stock. Then you can start changing things.

Okay i understand that, but there are two hoses coming off from the vent hub above the fuel tank, so which one of the hoses coming off from the vent hub do i hook up to the canister? There is one coming straight down and one coming off sideways.

And essentially if i hook up one of those hoses coming off from the vent hub to the canister and the other hose on the canister is hooked up to the nipple on the intermediate housing, what does the other hose go to that is coming off from the vent hub?

I don't know which is which since I don't have a tank that I can look at. I will when I drop my tank for an EFI conversion, but that won't be a for a while.

Anyway, one is the return line. The other is the vent. They're both 1/4". The larger one is the send line. It is 5/16". Again I don't know which 1/4" nipple is which. Maybe trochoid does.
