maybe its overspray from the cheap paint job the former owner did. doesn't make sense though, the rest of the interior is super mint, and clean clean clean!!
i was thinking of either painting the center console, or doing the carbon fibre overlay mod (the proper way with clear coat afterwards)

Un-Official E-Brake Install Instructions
Disclaimer - these are in no way official instructions from Redline Goods unless either party suggests other wise. You're advised to use these at your own cost and I'm not to be held responsible if you tear/cut/etc anything to your shift boot in the process.
Some optional things you'll want to consider before you start...
- Do you want the plastic bottom half of the e-brake on? It does make a difference.
You'll need to do the following before beginning, gather the supplies;
- One Zip-Tie
- Wire Cutters/Scissors
STEP ONE
Put your boot on the e-brake as is, make sure you get the longer flap on the left and the stitches at the top, flip it inside out and take it off.
STEP TWO
Put the e-brake boot back on (and make sure the piece is straight and not inwards) and get it to where you want the hump to appear at (or the top of the boot).
STEP THREE
Apply the zip-tie and then cut the end off...make sure that you get as much excess of the zip tie cut off as possible and make sure the hump is on the bottom and the stitching is on the top as shown above.

STEP FOUR
After the zip-tie is on there as good as you can get it, start to fold the boot back over until the hump is shown and you can physically see the hump and feel it.

STEP FIVE
If you've ever 'rolled' your shirt over when you tucked it in then follow the same concept here, there's nothing to really tuck into (from what I could see) so I just rolled the bottom edges over and it looks like its going down into the floor.

Make sure everything looks good and is nice and snug, test the e-brake out up and down a few times and you're set...a few miscellaneous images below;

FINISHED

You can view the original high-resolution photos click here but please don't link these as these do take up bandwidth and space.

nice ride grimes. i especially like how clean the engine bay is. make sure you update us all with the new parts!
im dying to post pics of my car, but i'd rather do so when im happy enough with it. won't be long! plus my car isn't running (never has since i got it a few weeks ago), but the replacement 12a is on its way soon, and my garage is too dark to take any quality pics anyways.

Hi guys,
some new FB pics for you. This is our BROWN leather on an FB after two coats of neatsfoot oil which darkened the color a little but didn't really affect the stitching. VERY nice effect!
