well i bout this sa now i want to set it up i know im goin to be needing a new engine for a turbo but i would like to make many more basic mods before i go and drop a new engine in her im going to be transfering the interior to black along with fresh new gloss coats and lots of buffing this is what she came with...

Engine Bay - Almost complete overhaul
-Mazda reman, 80k miles
-Mikuni 44PHH on a 2 piece RB manifold
-RB headers and presilencer
-All external engine components received new gaskets and seals. ie. manifold gaskets, oil pedistal o-ring, thermostat & seal, ect
-New belts and hoses
-Newish radiator, inspected and touched up at radiator shop.
-new cap + rotor
-new plugs

Drive Train -
-Transmission drives and shifts well, no grinding.
-2nd gen clutch teamed with 225mm lightsteel flywheel
-new tranny oilseal
-new pilot and throwout bearings plus new rearmain seal on the block
-new fluids in diff and in tranny

Wheels Suspension
-The car is rolling on 4 brand new, less then 1,000 miles, sumitomo HTR's
-4 OLD SKOOL riken 13" meshy style wheels
-I bought the car with aftermarket suspension. KYB shocks, bigger springs (unkown make right now) and bigger sway bars. I will look more into it soon.
-Replaced bushing on idler arm
-Brakes are ok. They are acceptable, but are not new. No unusual breaking noises or vibrations.

Interior - Pretty much stock
-New front carpet
-Original tan "RX-7" floor mats
-Rear carpet is worn out, but still has good color and is not ripped or really faded at all.
-Missing one of the door panels on driver side. Remaining panel is good condition, but not perfect.
-Dash is excellent condition
-Seats are good condition. Little faded and little mismatch colored, but they are original and not really torn up at all. There are two holes in the back of one seat though from leaning back on two screws sticking out of the hatch.
-Hatch converted for storage bins. But no bins due to the SA braces were the bins are supposed to go.
-ALl the lining around the cabin is still in great condition. No rips overhead or anything like that.

Exterior - I originally bought the car with a lot of oxidization of the paint. I worked just about it all out with a professional buffer and paint cutting compound. There are still places where you can see the color of the car how I bought it.
- Exterior is stock color
- Has some rust here and there. Nothing really to major I guess... Though there are a few spot where the glass hatch sits that I would recommend be delt with.
-Has front body damage. One fender and front header panel has dents.
- rare sa glass roof.
- I replaced some bad moldings. Cleaned and repainted, flat black.

shes doin allright besides the fact that i hit something in the slow lane as i was driving down to la last week and shoot loose or broke the back tranny mount bolt that has be replaced and about 3 days ago the carb flooded it self or something as i was downshifting off the freeway and killed her had to disconect the fuel pump turn her over and reconect it other then that i need new door rubbers driver door panel and thats about it any sugestions????????

If you continue to drive her hard on a normal basis, be prepared for alot of downtime. That
Sa trans is not as durable as the Se's that you had. The stock Sa brakes are marginal at best in todays traffic areas like La. Remember it has drum brakes on the rear and even the brake booster lacks the ability to provide proper power.

i hate the ridiculous audio system. i would keep the car's interior the original color. its tough to find interior bits for the SA that arent painted or hacked up. i like the current setup and wouldnt change too much. a turbo will be expensive and very time consuming. i would do what you're describing with a model that already has black interior and rear disc brakes(81+ GSL). that would be a good start.

...I would take it easy on the attitude or you will find that many people are going to be reluctant to help you out...if you don't like being ragged on...get a honda and join their forum, if not welcome to the first gen section...most people never go to the FAQ section and if you just do alittle searching you will find more than enough information to help you out on your turbo project...someone on this forum has turboed the 12a, 13b, and 20b so you won't find a lack of knowledge...anyone can read the sticker on a set of shocks...but for everything else there the search function at the top of the page...

somebody cut holes for 6x9's in my sa's panel where the bins usually are.
thats also why good center consoles are so rare. people f them up.
not to mention drilling screws into the dash.
aftermarket stereos suck.

i hope that sub in the pic is bolted down.
it wouldnt last a block the way i drive, probably even if it was bolted down, lol.
