rebuild or swap?
Ok heres my case
I have a bit of l;ow compression in my front rotor, i'm thinking about getting a rebuild, and spending about 1500, or i can buy an 85 from a guy for 500, and swap that engine, its got 211000 km, i'm wondering if the swap is easy, he has a 12a carbautomatic, and so do i but 5 speed, are there any differences between the 83 and 85? and also what a the best way to prevent blowing seals, and how can you make the engines last for ever?

$500 for a motor with 211000 km, my guess is that motor will not last verry long thats a lot of miles.
there is an import shop by me that gets motors for $650 for a 13b with around 45-65k miles on them. i bet you can find an importer that can get you the same if you want to save money.
if you do get the motor from that guy you will have to change the flywheel with yours for the 5spd.
and i dont think it is posible to make a rotary last for ever. unless you build it and never put it in a car then it will last forever.
just my $0.02
