rebuild or not?
hey guys i found an 84 today its black 5 speed and is in pretty good condition. the guys who owns it is obviously ignorant to rotary engines on account of he thinks its a 4 cyl. the odometer says 221k miles on its, and the car runs fantastic. i asked him if it has been rebuilt and he said he didnt know because he hadnt had it less than a year. the engine was also very clean. share your thoughts and opinions

Talk him down on the price because you feel that the engine is probably on it's last -10k miles. When really, the engine has most likely undergone a relatively fresh rebuild because 1) I doubt it went 100k and still looks perfect. 2) You say it pulls hard 3) he has no clue.

The only way I'd say that 5 sp rotory is still around on an orginal engine is either someone like to drive long and drawn out interstate cruises, or the car was owned by a rotory mechanic.

Airflow is my life
****, I had 179,000 on mine before it died. I autox'd it and over heated it bad and it still made it that far. If not for the overheating from a ruptured hose it would have made 200k easy.
