Rebuild it or BURN it to the ground?

I am working a deal on a 1988 Vert (good shape) that has a pooped rear apex seal, I really would like to have a REX daily driver and as I consider going turbo on the GSL-SE the finish line on the project seems to get further away- probably the begining of spring... SO I was considering some other options

Option 1) I was thinking of dropping my current 6 port in the Vert for now and using it as a daily driver, and rebuilding the pooped vert motor, streetporting it, and adding the turbo, and plopping it all back in "Mr. Hankey" in the spring. This way i could build the motor SPECIFICALLY for the 6 port turbo setup.

Option 2) Put the 6 port in the Vert use it as a daily driver/ car show attendee, pull the low miliage 12A out of my SA and plop it in the GSL-SE untill I can rebuild the Popped 13B out of the Vert, turbo it and put it back in.

Option 3) Leave things alone and rebuild the vert motor when I get a chance

What do you guys think? I really just need a good running 7 "mr.hankey" is going to be my autocross beast! I am thinking towards option 2.

The Honda is your daily driver.

Mr Hanky, the SE, is your future autocross car so concentrate on building that up to the specs you want.

The real questions are why do you want a broken FC vert, why do you want a running SA? Playing around with these will take time and money away from Mr Hankey. If you want him only as a competition car, then think why you want a RX-7 as your second daily driver.

The vert is heavy and under performing but you get fresh air, the SA is light and classical but needs more power. Which of these you finally decide on is a matter of personal choice but the priority is to get Mr Hankey performing.

My biased choice would be-- Honda daily driver, Mr Hanky for sport, and the vert as a sunny day cruiser.

The SA I aquired through a trade, it needs work but runs, it would not be a good daily 72 mile round trip. Mr. Hankey is undergoing a few changes- (2nd gen 13B and 6 port TURBO) so he is not up and running. I need a Rotary Daily driver because I feel empty if I don't actually drive one..lol. The bike is great, but not so great in the rain or durring the winter. As you stated I am going to have to make the decision on my own, I think option 4 will come into play- Sell the SA to build the 6 port turbo......

Option 4.

Tear down the GSL-SE and 12a motors. Use the housings from the SE and the irons from the 12a, and port them heavily. S5 hybrid turbo and manifold with an S4 turbo intake and Megasquirt.

The GSL-SE block will be hard to mount in the Vert, front mount cover, vs S4 side mounts, the intakes will be different as well as the ecu may be a bit off on the older block.
just some things to think about.
