Question Rear fender repair question

I bought an '82 FB with body issues and have resolved most of them but the rear feders. Both sides are rusted out on the outside wheel wells and need to be replaced. But how. Is there a company that sells replacement pieces I can buy or what do I do.

Use VW Golf (rabbit) wheelarches.

*EDIT* Maybe not the best picture with the overfenders on it, but you get the idea

fenderwells or fenders?

the fenders on my car are nice, but the wheelwells are gone.

I was just going to make my own, jeez if someone sold them or I could use the ones out of another car, that would rock!

what would be best is if you just cut tha bia off in a good size then get it off another car and weld it on.

Good descriptions never hurt anybody. We don't care if it's wordy, it's more irritating when it's too short.

Look here and tell me if this is what you're looking to do:

Either way, from your (poor) description, you should be able to use a front fender to fix your problems. No trashing of an RX7 needed.

rxtory youare going to need to cut and weld that... cut out the bad section and reweld new metal in. I have a friend who works for a steel company up here and can get me sheet metal cheap. Check around and you may have some luck otherwise plan on finding a donor car. Choose one that the front end has been wrecked...

You will have to do some metal forming, and have a good clean weld. Afterwards you will have to use some filler (bondo) and then just tack-cloth it and prime and paint... The other option is to get a good preformed section from a junk yard and then welld that in and clean up the same way.

Also take your time don't weld it solid , spot weld moving around from spot to spot it untill the spot welds are about 1/2 inch apart.

As long as you keep moving around like craigt says you will reduce teh likelyhood of the metal warping. Less warping means less cleanup. Thats a good thing.
