All 1st gens have the same basic rearend, they will all swap into one another.
The devil in the details involves the different driveshaft flange sizes, different wheel lug patterns and sorting out the parking brake cables and fluid lines.

Since your rx7 is an 85 you will be ok on the drive shaft. Just need to make sure you get the parking brake cables off the gsl-se your getting the rear end from.
I can't remember if the 85 thread on the brake lines are the same but I think they are so no problem there. I know to go from a 79-80 to the 85 rear end I had to change my brake lines out and my drive shaft.
As for the brake master you don't have to do it but a new one might work better.
I am still running the 79 master and booster on my 85 rear axle.
Good luck and make sure to have a floor jack handy to hold the axle.

Did the 84 GSL-SE swap to an 84 GS. Direct swap. No issues. Used the SE parking brake cables from the main cable back only. They were a pain. Only used the SE brake distribution block not the whole master, and that worked fine as well.
