Rear drum to disc brake swap - what about brake bias

Today, I picked up a rear end out of an 85 GSL and I want to swap pretty soon. When I add the disc brake rearend I think that I will change my front to rear brake bias.

How much of a change will this be and what is the easiest way to correct this.

I have a proportioning vale that I can add or I can get the master cyclender from the GSL.

Suggestions? Thanks ~ JEB

I'm doing the exact same swap as you. Get yerself a master cylinder from a GSL and you should be good. I don't know how your rear looked but mine terribly rusted. I did a POR-15 paint job on it and now it's looks as good as new.

Exclamation Don't forget the proportion valve!!

If you were swaping'82-82 or earlier, you'd be fine. But '83 and later proportion valve is a different part number between disc and drum.

I think what happened is in 1983 the increased the size of the power assist unit.

Be sure to use organic pads in the rear, not metal. The squeal from the metal will drive you mad.
