??? Rear bumper removal ???

I cannot get this thing off ! It's driving me crazy. I've only got the rear bumper to toss in the dumpster before my strip down is complete for the exterior and interior. I've taken off the 4 nuts that botl to the body, but it will not come out. Any help is appreciated !

You got the 4 nuts on the outrside off right? Did you get the lock and jam nut off the shock absorber? It's inside the hatch under the service panels on each side, each plate is held down by a couple of screws.

Good luck.

I took my rear bumper off by just taking off two bolts, mind you that doesn't take of the shock absorber part...

looking from the bottom, you'll see 2 quarter sized holes with bolts in them, by removing this, the bumper(plastic shell and metal bracing) will come off, leaving the shock absorbers protruding.

to remove them you have to detach the 2 bolts on the outside, 1 extra bolt on the left for the tow hook- and the bolt inside at the other end of the strut. it's under a small access panel in the hatch area...

2 heavy duty bolts does it easy. Everything else is the skin.
