Re-working Vent system

I'd like to re-do the crank case venting on my 85 FB, it has the rats nest removal and the vent setup is messy in my opinion. what's the best way to get it as minimal as possible? what do i need to put on instead of the criss cross setup of hoses and valve that we get from removing the rats nest? It's still got the stock Nikki, in case someone asks.

after looking at it and thinking about it - i think the correct way to do it is just put a pcv valve (like the ball valve in the fuel line) on the oil filler neck. Correct? And do i need to do something with the larger line on the top section of the carb? A catch can would be needed there, correct?if i cap it off it's just fill with oil i think? and then of course plug the two small vacuum lines on the carb.

The top line goes to the charcoal canister. If you don't have one, it's best to have some kind of filter there.

my charcoal canister is hooked up - my setup is as it says to do on the handy rats nest removal guide.

if i hooked that line up to the charcoal canister, wouldn't oil get in there? I'm all for premixing, but with 2 stroke, not motor oil :p

and if gas is in that line - wouldn't that mean that currently we're all dumping fuel in our oil?
