you can pick those up from Summit racing, or any local shop that carry's earls and Russels fittings. The fitting sizes are 18mmx1.5 I believe and 16mmx1.5 the AN hose size can be 8 or 10AN. Racing beat sells them also:

If I'm correct, you need 3x16mm and 1x18mm and the 18 fits on the rear of the engine

Yeah like dj55 said. If your not too familiar with -AN fittings and what not just buy the racing beat ones. The price is pretty accurate and you can't do them for much less yourself. The fittings are the killer. The actual steel braided hose is reletively cheap. I started out with the racing beat ones and then when I moved the oil cooler I changed to two 90 degree fittings for the cooler and bought 10-15 feet of hose (I can't remember which) that was the only way they would sell it. Then I just moved all the fittings to the new hose lengths. It's actually really easy after you do it a few times. If your oil cooler is in the stock location just buy the pre-fabed stuff it's cheaper. Mine is -10AN just so you know. The stock one blew off on me one day so I decided to buy some that could never do the same thing. I'm sure a brand new set of stock hoses is more than adequate though.

Yeah it's getting there. Just waiting on stuff as usual. Can't wait to fire her up. Does anyone have a FC exhaust flange? The one that bolts to the stock FC S5 exhaust manifold? I didn't check when I had the whole FC at my house and I found out it's quite a bit bigger. For starters I'm just going to weld it onto my stock exhaust and smog the car then buy the racing beat exhaust and header. I just need one chopped off from a bad FC pre-cat I guess.

Whats up Steve!

Im finally working on my car again. I need your help with some final electrical crap.
I need to get power to the coils, gauges and other things that have power only when the cars running.

Hey, can you see if I can get some ECU tuning help? Ill setup the ignition side and all the basic ECU settings so that the thing starts and runs. If I wait till I have the cash to get the car over to mazdatrix Itll never get done.

Anyways Id really like it if you could come over some time and help me get everything finished so we can fire it up for the first time.

You other guys, Hes right. Just buy the racingbeat/mazdatrix hoses unless you are relocating the oil cooler. Its REALLY easy to do the hoses wrong and have them pop off.

If your broke go to the junkyard and get some 2nd gen hoses. they can be made to work with a little bending of the solid portion of the line.

Ya mike no problem man. give me a call I got a **** load of customer cars at my house right now. once again miltons eclipse lol! That piece of **** I told you he'd break it before it got tuned. Now he bought a john shepherd motor or something. crazy a-hole has more money than he knows what to do with.

Your going to hate me man I just got back from la yesterday night with the FC I bought. 89 GTU I believe. I'm actually thinking of selling the two FBs to simplify my life a bit and just keeping the FC. Everyone on here is going to think I'm crazy but the car is clean as hell. Except the front seats. Recovered in orange and blue vinyl. WOW! I don't get that but what ever. I may be in the situation were I can't sell the FB because nobody would pay the money that I have into it though. So I'm just playing it by ear for now.

youll regret the 2nd gen. Its a junker. I had one. A super clean turbo one!
Its not really an rx7, its nothing like an rx7. Dont do it!!

Really, youll regret it. the 2nd gen is a **** box. youd be better off getting another prelude, or anything honda makes in the 89-90's

Come over, help me finish mine and drive it. youll remember why you liked the 1st gen.

Go to www.re-speed.com. Put the rack kit in your shopping cart and click to check out. It will calculate the shipping cost for you. The rack is an option.

ok finally some progress and more pictures sorry for the huge delay onmy part I've had the parts back for what seems like a week now. Everything is powdercoated and I took the opprotunity to clean up some surface rust and primer some spots.

Heres a shot from under the passenger side wheel well with the rear lower arm still not installed

A couple from above the engine bay

A couple of some of the other parts I had billy powdercoat for me. Including the coil bracket and the cut down swaybar mounting brackets.

A picture of the reason I haven't had much time to work on the FB. It's my new Fc of course. It's a NA S5 with a turbo hood. I bought it that way. Car runs pretty damn good after some adjustments. I think I just need a new neutral switch and it's all set. The interior is not quite as nice as the exterior.

Some of the primer work before the parts went in.

One of the FB back on the jack stands. I was going to do more today but it's SO windy i can't believe it. I don't know whats up with our weather lately this wind needs to stop.

The wind is just a sign of the end of the world. Pretty nice work, since you've been working on this, I've actually been looking at a different type of swap, but I REALLY want this rack on my car... I'm not sure what to do next to see if it'll fit.

Billy is going to be making motor mounts for the center iron style mounts, not sure when he plans to release them, but he said he was making them.
Looking good skidtron, I keep meaning to update my thread with pics of my engine mounts all together, but I've been very busy finishing the new, much quieter exhaust setup on it...

Yeah I have a minor set back with the FB now. I used the engine for the FB in my FC. And the trans. The FC came with a failry loud S4 trans in it. So I put my S5 trans in there when I dropped in the 90XXX mile engine that I already prepped in the FC that was for the FB. Since it is a daily and I didn't want to pre mix on the FC plus the engine that came in the FC had a vacuum leak. The engine from the fC only has 3,000 miles on it a fresh rebuilt one with loads of new parts internally. But some of the external stuff was a bit iffy. So I just put my finished stuff in there so I have a good solid daily driver. Which I do now so thats good. Now I need to redo the exterior parts of the new engine so it can go in the FB and get a trans thats quieter or rebuild the S4 one. Still trying to decide. But there it is pretty much finished just need to swap the drivetrain in and it's done. Billy like the mounts and said they looked good and all that. Anyone got a good trans? I got a few here so I'll see what I makes the most sense to use. I have a good T2 trans but thats a bit stupid to waste on a NA engine in my opinion. There's also a SE trans here but then the SE doesn't have a trans anymore.

Hard decision.

Well if you have the T2 trans and feel its a waste on the NA engine I guess its just time for a T2 engine as well
haha but seriously I'm sure you'll figure it out, and at least you have a good daily driver then. the Project can wait.

If one is a SE trans that works I'll trade you. Or like he said up there maybe I'll get a T2 engine to match and sell the brand new NA engine. Not sure what to do yet. I could use the above mentioned S4 trans but it noisy and annoying sounding.
I think it's time to put stuff for sale in the ads section.

Why do you have to live in GA? I don't want to ship that thing. It's too much effort to take it to a shipping company. I'll have to trade or sell it locally to make it worth while to me honestly.

Are opinions allowed.. well here it is.. just a suggestion to the guy that made the kit in the first place maybe should think about multiple engine mount kits for different apps to go with the steering kit.. anyways glad to see things goin well and good luck..!!

I hope you don't mind me jumping in here to ask a rack & pinion question. Seemed like as good a place as any. I saw some discussion about the angle of the steering column through the firewall. Mine is similar to the picture in post 105 if I use the aluminum spacer. But without using the spacer, it lines up perfectly...centered in the firewall hole, and lines up with the brackets inside. In my pictures you can see I have the spacer on, but it isn't doing any spacing. Anyone see a problem with this?

Thanks,
Rich
