RB streetport header/exhaust system weight??

Anybody know the weight of the RB full system? It seems very heavy when I installed mine.

I had one shipped from Ohio to my zip 28078 and it cost $65 using fedex. Maybe
you can reverse the math to figure out the weight. I expect it weighs around
90 lbs. or so.

I just looked up my old tracking number and the total weight for the RB SP exhaust was
80 lbs.

the heaviest part about it is the dual presilencer section and muffler. i removed the silencer section out of mine to get alittle more sound out of it.

There wasn't much in the packaging except some cardboard boxes and they all
together probably weighed less than 5 pounds I bet. It just seems heavy
because its awkward to lift and your older

I bet its a lot less than the stock thermal reactor and exhaust it replaces.

yeah I have just an RB header to a borla muff and then turn downs..

Not real heavy, but I am so tired of it being so loud and obnoxious!!!

If you switched to the RB SP system, you'd be tired of it being so heavy, restrictive, and quiet. I have an RB system and I like it a lot for what it is, but if I had a little more serious prepped car like your autocross FB, I'd definitely rock a similar setup and ditch the RB. Its an awesome bolt-on, streetable exhaust, but for a race car it seriously lacks.

yeah I know.... I have the rb system on my black SA22 and love it.

My silver car is just OBNOXIOUS... it is so loud!! SCCA is starting to implement noise db limits....mine fails!!

I run a stainless borla right now. It is a straight through design. I could extend the pipe out and run another borla at the back. I would flow great and not cost too much!

You need to read this thread if you haven't already. A lot of good info in there.

Wow, your car is that loud? SCCA rules has a 100dB limit. We just had our first autocross last week and there was only one car over @ 102, the next closest was like 96. A couple more serious members used to run straight headers and had to add mufflers. I'm rather pleased with the sound regulations, you can still be plenty loud and within the limit, it just stopped people from having REALLY loud cars.

I think if you added another muffler in the back it would help a lot.

You know as crazy as it seems on a race car, I considered running a magneflow racing catyletic converter. They have very low restriction, would clean up the fumes a little, and would quieten the car. The converter is only $100 or so.

Wonder if the rotary exhaust would melt the converter!!??

The rotary wouldn't melt it, but cats are way higher of a restriction than a muffler, even high flow ones. Not to mention they are much heavier than a muffler. On a CSP car its a very bad idea if you're trying to stay competitive.

Yeah...that is exactly why I chose the exhaust I have! Very lightweight and low restriction. I might just stick with what I have... yes it is loud, but it works! Hopefully I can get by with the sound limit a little longer!
