RB SP Holley Setup

Well, I finally went ahead and did it. I installed the RB intake, and holley carb, along with a blue FP, and a pressure regulator, and a liquid filled gauge. What a waste of time. Don't get me wrong, there's a ton of power increase, but the damn thing is too big for the motor. I'll be contacting Sterling soon for one of his with the carb I took off. Does anyone make an adapter for the Nikki, to the RB intake?

BTW, I love corners, and right-handers absolutely suck with this carb. I want my Nikki back. And for future reference, don't buy a Holley Blue for this setup, too much pump. Now to eBay in search for a holley red.

In my exrerience the blue works fine. Also is your engine ported? If not, then yes the carb is too big, but if it is ported it is a good size ! ! ! Is this a RB set up Holley? if so it should have center hung floats and cornering shouldnt be a prob?

The RB setup doesn't come with center hung floats. That's another overpriced option. Right now, I think most of my problems is from the pump itself. My gauge says anything from 0-9 psi, and it's random. most of the time it sits from 3-5 psi. But, whenever I try to do a 1/2 throttle accel, the car jerks, and sputters a little bit, all the way through the rev range, and when I let off the gas, it cruises fine, then starts to jerk the car violently.

Another thing that is quite scary, I've had the float bowls overfill, and Holley and their infinite wisdom decided to put that vent hole on the primary bowl, that spews gasoline all over the headers. Nice design Holley.

I know I need more time to tune it, but for right now, I'm very displeased with Holley's carburetor. I do love the power increase, but the design is less than satisfactory.

BTW, yes the car has a RB equivalent SP. And also the SP exhaust.

The F/P on the holley blue is too high. You can use it but be sure to have fuel return.

RB equivalent streetport means mild port. you will notice more power if you junk that RB sp exhaust system. its too restricted.

I'm looking for a holley red right now. Found one for $55, so that'll be coming friday when i get paid. The exhaust isn't that restrictive, and it's half-*** quiet. The cops around here like loud exhaust tickets. I don't dare uncork it. I'll blow windows out. Really looking for a GSL-SE, so i can stop putting money in the GSL to keep it running decent.

well, my holley blue rocks. couldn't be more happier. steady 8psi. the pressure regulator might be the problem. cause if i'm not mistaken the blue should run constant 15psi. now for the r/b holley set-up? never had one. but i do believe they say you need to tune it to your engine. just like any other carb. i've got a box holley 600.and it took a little while to tune mine. but it rocks now. just a little time and it should all come to. i've heard good things about the r/b holley. i just didn't see the use of paying so much.
