RB Exhaust and Smog Testing

Is it possible to swap out the presilencer and replace it with a catalyst without doing any major modifications? Has anyone done this? TIA.

yup...
get the proper flanges from racing beat, and build yourself a cat pipe (one main cat should be enough).

Do you have to have an air pump to run a high flow cat?

What would the setup consist of if I used the Bonez cat? Wouldn't the connecting pipe need to be shortened to accomodate this particular cat?

I believe something needs to be shortened, but I am not sure.

I've been trying to figure out how to pull off a emissions friendly exhaust and not keep any of the stock (restrictive) parts.

yes you need to hook up the airpump, but that is easy to do .. you can also run the airpump directly to the cat, if you are planing on using it only for smog..

How does the RB exhaust sound? Anyone have a sound file of it? I'm not looking for something loud, but rather something a tad bit louder than stock (pretty quiet). Am I looking at the right exhaust or not? Driving 45 miles with a leaky exhaust gave me a big headache.

I got the RB street port setup--still don't have my street port yet (hopefully soon) but it sounds MUCH MUCH MMMMUUUUCCCCCHHHHH better than the stock sound! Lower tone and slightly louder.

At cruising speeds around 60-70, it's kinda loud (constant hummmmmm) but i like that

Edit: I don't have a cat--no smog laws for me

FuLLsMoke - Is the hum really loud inside the car? Is it annoying?
