rats nest??~wtf mate~

rats nest??~wtf mate~

i hear alot of poeple sayin they removed their rats nest and to set me stright is the rats nest the solor coded like plug looking lines ontop of you engine??and then i hear(if thats what im thinking of) you gain power from it....is that true???? again how hard is it to remove and how do you remove it and is there any set-backks from removing it?????............im not aware of any restrictions in my area if that matters with polution...........rusty

you are right. the rats nest is the solid colored plug lookin lines ontop of you engine. i'm not sure exactly how much power if any you gain from just removing that. the point is to get rid of the emissions all together. that gives you the power. the rats nest, charcoal cannister, and most importantly the air pump. the air pump robs power from your engine having to turn it. its fairly simple to do. then you have a cleaner lookin engine and alot less vacuum lines to worry about. look up in the 1st gen fax section. there is a thread with good directions on removing them. good luck

Yes its the colored thingys. Not sure about power gains personally but some people say yes others say no. I do know there is either a write up on here or maybe on nopistons.com.
