you have likely traveled into the fourth-dimensional space known as the Twilight Zone.

A rat rod is a 30's-40's style rod that is, esentially, not finished. Primered or mis-matched panels, rust maybe, welds not ground down. Most importantly: NO BILLET!!!!!!! Just a throw-it-together-and-drive-it style car.

See what Jalopnik has to say...

Yup, the other part of it is a culture, if you attend a rat rod event, a lot of the people are going to be dress in like a 50s? fashion (all of this is way before my time, I'm only 24), but most of it are really rough hot rods, rust and all, to replicate a car guys period when car guys were not rich and all they wanted was to get together something that runs.

Honestly, I think a lot of first gen sevens could be considered "rat-rods"

I would consider my car a rat rod, except that I have a billet alluminum FPR and BOV, so im out.

the guys who had rat rods had one thing in mind, and that was to go fast. They were the guys who made drag racing what it is today, and they didnt have much money to spend
