Okay, let's think a minute here...

Savannah RX-7 and a 2nd gen. What do these things have in common?

Not to mention that I highly doubt that there's a 3D hood...

*shrug*

The thing that struck me so much is that the person adamantly declares that it will not be available anywhere else in North America. How does he know that?
Also, these were "just released" in Japan? Why? Would the Japanese really give a ****? So Zippo, an American company, was commissioned by Mazda, an American/Japanese company, to make lighters with old rx-7s on them for the Japanese- who we all know smoke like brushfires; and this ebay seller represents the only place in North America to be able to get these lighters.

Yeah- That makes sense.

Yeah,

The pictures look weird to me. The seller has 0 feedback. Even if I smoked, or had a turbo 2nd gen, I'd still pass that up.

Another thing is that Zippo has a lifetime warranty on the mechanical operation of all their lighters. If the hood is in fact "3D and fucntional" it would fall under the mechanical warranty.

Sterling, based on the fact that it'd be about 1 inch tall and 7/8th wide, what sort of pin assembly could possibly be strong enough to keep it from being broken?

Pratch, wasn't the RX-7 sold under the 'Savannah' name right up until they changed it to Efini?

Zippo does sells those lighters... i've seen the FD version of that lighter as well.

I don't have the exact website that was selling it (it was about a year ago I seen it) but the website wasn't in english anyways...

Hmmm. My skepticism keeps me from getting fucked. But it's times like these that I wonder;
Does the insurance of not getting screwed outwiegh the opportunities I may be missing?

Ok man, enough of this trash talking. My friend is selling this lighter, I have seen it in person already, and tonight i am gonna have him take some digital pics to post on the forum to shut you guys up.

For one thing, if you could find ANYONE who is selling this lighter in North America, let me know coz I want it too. My friend is 100% sure that are no RETAILERS out there selling this lighter. Again, if you can find one, let me know and I will tell him to change his description.

Please respect the seller of this item, I doubt any of you have ever seen anything like this before, and I understand why you guys don't trust him. It's real, I have seen it already, and if you don't believe me (or him), suit yourself.

So just because this item is not related to the "12A" justifies the comments given by some of them here? I am not peddling my goods here, it is my friend who's selling this, and I just thought some of you might be interested. Sorry if my "FC" thread "offended" anybody, but don't we all drive a rotary powered car? Why all this division?

Post here on the first gen site often do ya, Rotary Dawg?
If this is your "friends" item, how come you don't buy it? Aterall, you just asked if anyone knows where else you can get one cause you "want one, too...".
Hmm. Some friend, ya? You'd think he'd give ya a break on it, since you have a rotary n' all.
...Or does he have one, too? And if he does have an Rx-7, why would'nt he have posted here?

Those photos are doctored. We would appreciate seeing photos taken by you- Ya know, real pictures. The ones on ebay are commercial photos pieced together. I've saved them and looked at them with Paintshop Pro, and they are the same damn picture ofthe edge of the lighter with the brushed plaque applied to the lighter picture.

This is another of those "Trashable" threads I'm talking about. It will only serve to clutter the searches for future site users.

The photo on the ebay auction is one that my friend found on a Japanese website that used to sell these lighters. Now whether they're doctored or not I don't know, but they represent the real thing pretty accurately. Here's the website address, see for yourself.

http://www.aurelia.jp/mazdazippo.html

I don't know what your problem is, but what my friend is doing is frankly none of your business. The fact that he's not selling it to me directly is because he thinks he can make more money out of it selling to other people - pure and simple. What does that gotta do with you? Why criticise my friend for doing what he thinks is right for himself? What RIGHT do you have in criticising my friend, if you don't even know him (and me)? Sure I would like to own this item, but I understand his position. I am not bidding for it right now, but if the price is lower than expected then I will buy it off him.

And FYI, he does NOT own a RX-7, and that's why he's asking me to post on this forum for him. The aim of his auction is to MAKE MONEY. He's not a charity you know.

I don't know why this would constitute as a "trashable thread", since I think some people here are genuinely interested in buying this item. It is just childish of you to diss my thread like this, and I would suggest that you find something better to do other than sit around and attack other people with your so-called "arguments".

Don't go around attacking people if you don't even have the facts straight. This lighter EXISTS, and there are many more (for other car models and marques) out there. Just because you're ignorant of what's happening on the other side of the Pacific does not give you the right to insult people.
