I suggest sticking with a streetport. Too much power in a 1st gen on gravel and you'll loose the back end real easy, especially when the "snap oversteer" kicks in. I had that happen to me on a wet road once. Once the back end comes around because of snap oversteer, you can't get out of it. I ended up about 3 feet away from a telephone pole facing the opposite direction. I'm going to have so much fun with my new engine

Mine plows like pig unless you really throw it at a corner.

I do my best on tight courses with lots of directional changes. Heavy understeer in long sweepers, but you can get a really nice pendulum action going on. The Scandi-flick is my *friend*.

that snap overstear is some frightening stuff. Had the project car out on a test run after gutting it, was nailing the corners faster and faster without any problem. Then came the point when I just decided to go for broke, on dry pavement. Three turns later, with the drivers side tires in the (formerly) right hand side of the road facing the way I had just come, I decided maybe I found the top speed I could take that corner.

I would go for more power, come-on who wants to take 100hp to the race track. If you want to go cheap, weld the spider gears, that will work much better than LSD

no updates. Work has been overbearing as usual and I haven't been able to drag the thing into the shop to even tear the engine out and get going on a rebuild.

Hopefully I will find the time soon.

well, mine's STILL sitting, how about yours? lol.

I've got a couple other FB's now that I'm fixing up, and the talon is still a "project"... it's FAST on loose surfaces, I have to give it that! and ****** amazing in snow. I still want an FB rally car though! I finally figured out why I can't get my (gutted) sa22 to run.. the fuel pump was unplugged! I spent like 2 hours one day cranking it and not being able to figure out why it wans't getting gas.. .guess it was the cold getting to me (this was early in the year, march maybe?)

Mine goes brap brap brap but the floor is still full of holes (both manmade and naturally occurring) and I'm still not done welding the suspension up and some jerkwad broke into the car and trashed the dashboard and destroyed all three locks and both doors, so that is kind of a setback.

aww, I want mine to go brap-brap-brap..

anyone notice that if the choke is set wrong while the car is hot and you get on the gas a bit, it sounds JUST like it has a wicked bridgeport! I did :P lol

my '83 GS is FULL of holes omg, well only 6 but they are 6 REALLY big ones.

looks like I'm rebuilding the ENTIRE wheelwells.... I just started cutting and didn't stop till I hit unrusted metal.. and that's what it took! Front floor on the drivers side is pretty rough too.. oh well, all the rust is gone!

I'm going to seam-weld this car while I'm at it, yay!

I need to figure out how to work this welder thing first though! lol. (just kidding, I have somone coming to teach me...)

do you think that tocikos + poly bushings = will stand up to abuse?
