Raised white letter or Black sidewalls

I am about to buy new tires for my LE wheels and I am down to 2 choices.

1) BFG Radial T/A with a Raised White Letter

or

2)Falken Zies with Black sidewalls

I was thinking the raised white letter cause all the cars in the original catalogs had bridgestone raised white letters.

Some opinions please.

Anyone have the BFG's on their Rx-7 I would like to see pics.

Jason

I like raised white letters. They give the car a more agressive look.

BFG tires can be installed with black walls out also. I dont know now but back then, those darn BFG tires are very slippery when wet and they dont last long.

If you have the LE wheels, I'd go with black walls, but if you have the aluminum + Wheels then go with raised white letter

BFG Radial T/A's do not have the grip offered by the Falken's. The T/A is basicly just a wider version of an average tire. They have the look, but lack in delivery.
My guess is, the Falken's are less cost vs the BFG's as well.

balck walls, trust me on this one, I've had both and the white ends up looking really crappy and worn.

Black walls. As Trochoid said, this isn't a muscle car. Or, a dragster.

The white lettering washes easily with an ordinary kitchen pot scrubber.

I find it a shame that you can only find outline lettering. I prefer solid lettering.

The old Goodyear GS lettering looked good on the 83 back in 90,.....

I have BF-G G-Force T/A's on my car but they're hardly a street tire

White lettering came stock on your FB, and will still look great in 20 more years.. stick with it~!

White lettering is the classic look for the X wheels and I'd get them myself if they were available on a highly rated set of tires, but I've only seen it on the BFGs and they don't do too well with Consumer Reports and the customer ratings at the discount tire places. But they do complete the package, here's some "TurboTech" white letter tires that came with my tan 84 GSL:

Damn, those rotor wheels would look kick-*** with a set of the BFG Comp T/A's I recently scored. (used legends spec tires)
I'm gonna put a set on the stock + wheels for when I wanna save my 15's.

its an old thread ......... but what the hell , i found in a search i was doing

I'm going to try new BFG Traction TA's on the '79 ,. I bought new 15 x 7 Konig Rewinds for it and wanted raised white letter tires. All I could really find for those rims and a close to stock rolling diameter was the BFG raised black letter Traction TA's.

I Bought some white letter paint from the local harley dealer and am very happy how they turned out . Can't wait to get them on the car in april when I get it out of storage.

I like the black letters. The white make the wheel look larger (maybe just me)

I'm picking these up in March BF Goodrich g-force T/A KDW
