Radio wiring?

I bought an aftermarket head unit for my 7 since I sort of blew the old one up... But the wiring is so different. The tape player is fried too so i just want to cut that out of the picture. The wires aren't color coded to match with the new ones, so i was wondering if anyone could help out? The model number is XD1222 http://www.dualav.com/support/manuals/xd1222.pdf

I would get a test light. Turn on your key and find out your hot wires. Turn key off and look for constant power. If all fails look up Crutchfield and get a harness from them. Its not as hard as you may think.

no aftermarket radio will have wires that match a car's factory wire colors. like vj said, get a test light or volt meter and find a switched +12v to power the unit with the ignition switch in acc and on position, and a constant +12v for clock and preset memory. if u don't have such a meter, now's the time to get one. volt meter will come in handy down the road. if ur not using an amp, it's good to run new speaker wire rather than try to find/use the pre-existing speaker wires. they're too small anyway.

I replaced mine a few years ago. i couldn't figure out the wiring. i ended up just rewiring everything. it took some time and i had to pull every pannel out of my car except the doors. it worked very well until it was stolen 5 times. no more radio for me

You can either pull your speakers out and look at the color wires and trace them back or just run new wires. The factory wires are small so i would upgrade.Good luck!

Is it safe to say that nobody has figured out the wiring on the factory DIN connectors leading from the stereo to the factory amps? I would love to see a wiring diagram for the factory amps so that I can make an adapter to convert the DIN to RCA for an aftermarket amp, or to see if I can utilize the factory 25x2 amps.
Why? Just because I want to see if I can do it.
