Radio Problem, HELP!!

I bought a new cd player for my car. When i tried putting it in i noticed that the radio fuse had blown. I replaced it and it blew again when i turned the key, and there was nothing plugged in to the radio wire. I went through about 8 fuses trying to find out what was making it do that, and i still don't know. If anyone knows whats goin on, please let me know. thanks

Basically fuses blow because power is hooked to ground or other high current draw reasons. Check your wiring. unhook your stereo and see if the fuse blows. If not add wires first ground then power and so on when the fuse starts blowing again you have found your problem.

Well i unhooked my stereo and the fuse still blows, even with nothing connected to it. Should i retrace the wire to the fuse box to see if theres a problem there?

I would do just as Quagmireman did. The same as myself. Run new wires. You would be suprised how well a fresh ground and power work.

you run the red wire to the battery and connect the black wire to ground, like some un painted metal.........make sure there is a fuse in the red wire too.....id try to use the speaker wires that are already there unless you have upgraded your speakers if you have run new speaker wire too

I've got two power wires that went to the stock radio. I'm not sure where my constant power for the memory on my cd player is. And i'm not sure which one goes to power the cd player. Could the fuse be blowing because it is short circuiting? Maybe if i actually hook up my cd player it will work?
