radiator hoses....

Anyone know where I can buy some radiator hoses for an 85? I looked at mazdatrix and they want almost 25 bux a piece, I'd like to get some silicone hoses if possible...

Umm... I dont wanna be mean, but you really should try the parts store. The usual wear and tear items are easy to get for my car even. Just look into it a little more, those catalogs are for when the parts stores say they dont make that item, or its something really odd, especially when you get into the internals of the engine.

get the molded. it is almost exactly like the factory hose. flex hose sucks because it is universal.

My local Mazda dealer gets parts quickly and has a 20% discount for NC Mazda Sports Car Club members (SCCA discount). Try approaching your local dealer and see if they would create a like discount. They carry good hoses. I am told Gates are also good. Many hoses have had quality downgrades as they have gone over the border or overseas and companies seek to shave another penny. Be careful with universal hoses. The heater hoses are molded. Too much is at risk for me to use an inferior hose and chance a failure. I understand the cost issue but quality and reliability supercede it. mazdatrix has a good listing for all heater and radiator hoses. That is just my experience from having not immediately replaced all hoses on an '85 SE w/ 150,000 mi. My breaks could have been worse and were mild.
