strut problems

i just got a pair of front struts from a 1982 rx-7. i put it on my 1980 and ran into a problem. the spindle on the 82 struts is to big. the bearings in the rotor that goes on the spindle is too small. my question is can i get the rotor bearings form a 1982 and put it on a 1980 rotor, or do i have to get the whole rotor from a 1982. please help. any and all info will be appreciated

That makes no sense at all cause the '79-83 use the same inter and outer wheel bearings, and the same rotors.

Are you sure you don't have 84-85 spindles, just because they were off of a '82 car does not mean that they are '82 parts. Swaps are very common.

Don't believe me about '79-'83 being the same parts, look it up at the MazdaTrix web site.

You may even have GSL-SE struts, check the bolt pattern of the rotor, that will tell you for sure.

What rear end do you have? Youre gonna end up with two different rim back/front.

im jus tryin to swap the front for now. the rearend is stock for now, not completely stock. got LSD. i jus want the bigger brakes in the front. when i have more money i will be swaping the drums to disk in the rear. not worried about rims or size on car.

Thats good because the rims you have wont fit on those struts. Youll need to get the 114mm bolt pattern (SE) size.
