Rad sounds/temp guage

I am fixing my 85 gsl and am running into some difficulties. One is that the temp guage quasi works. It will go up to like just past cold and then wont move after that. How do i fix that? Can i get a new sensor or....?

After running for like 5 minutes (or 30) and you turn off the car it sounds like the rad is boiling away. Even after the 5 minutes it sounds like this but the coolant is not hot. Is this a normal sound or...

can you guys help me out

Combustion leaking ito coolant passages? Low coolant level? Sounds like there is air in the cooling system. Either it was not properly bled, or it is getting in there somehow.

Is the guage reading 1/4 of the way up?

When you get the boiling sound, Have you removed the radiator cap?

I did remove the radiator cap and it was not boiling but sounded like it was even after shut off (but wasnt). While running there is pressure in the system. If thats what you were meaning?

The temp guage will go from cold to above the first line and hover there. So its reading that its cold, but not super cold. Or is this where they normally read?

I don't remember where the 1st line is. Is it approx 1/4 over on the guage?

Were there alot of bubbles when you looked into the radiator while the engine was running?

Sounds like a stuck thermostat and the water is boiling, trapped in the engine.

You get a new one. From Mazda. New gasket too.

Don't get Stant. Stant can't.
