Rad sensor but not coolant level?

For starters I have an 85 GSL

I am putting a new rad in so I am switching over all the sensors and whatnot.

What is the sensor on the bottom of the rad. Clips into a small harness type thing on the same cluster of wires as the coolant level sensor wire

Checked the manuals. Out of all the wiring diagrams i could NOT find this sensor or even any sensors with the same color of wires (blue with yellow or maybe white stripe and black which im assuming is ground)

Can someone tell me what this sensor is. To me it looks like a temp sensor but i know thats near the oil filter.

Cant check what doesnt work by unpluggin it as non of my guages work.

A few pics are there

Jess

I believe it controls the fan clutch.

I thought the fan clutch was entirely mechanical and not electrical... and thats why it looks similar to a heatsink

Or am i mistaken?

I could be wrong, I'm going by the Victoria British catalog. I can't find it in the parts catalog.

This is part of the automatic chock pull off. If you have a 79-82 or SE carbed, and you order an aftermarket radiator, they will send you one without the hole for that sensor. I have seen that a billion times.

Isn't the choke switch behind the water pump ?

I've got an '82 and a replacement 3 row radiator with that hole.

looks like I'm wrong.

In the '82 wiring diagram, Section B, component B-11.

Goes from ECU, that thing is No 2 Water Temp Switch (rad), then goes to No 1 Water Temp Switch (Eng), then to wire that comes off the Choke Switch to Hot Start Relay.

I apologize 3rd and final, but i figured since i knew it wasnt the water temp (gauge) sender that it would be under that. Clearly i was mistaken.
