So, has anyone brought up the V8 conversion question yet? I've skimmed threw and didn't see any mention.

I have no problem with the price after building race cars and racing boats when ever you can afford to buy something as opposed to makeing it you allmost allways are better off buying it fabricating takes for ever and if you screw it up you have to start over Im buying it even though after seeing I think I could build it my self
MY 2 cents worth

rotor vs. piston : i think chris or J/O said that if the oil pan has the same clearance as a stock rex with a rotary then it will fit a v8 conversion

It will NOT fit a V8 RX--7. At least not the 302 swap. For the 302 swap you have to reverse the X-member. Since the kit mounts to the X-member, reversing it will mean it's going to have no place to mount. Not only that, but the Pitman arm barly clears the oil pan, I doubt the R&P will clear. The old design looked like it would fit with some minor modifications, this new design is basically hopless for V8 guys. Why would you spend $550 just to cut it all up and basically re-design it yourself?

You're so right

Anyway, I do like the idea of rack and pinion in my seven. But right now, it's all slightly new too me. I'd like to know how hard it'll be to install. It looks rather straightforward, if I think about some of the other mods I already have. But it's going to be VERY expensive for me. I'd pay 35-40% import taxes, plus a lot of shipping...
I'll have to be 100% it works perfect. Also, since it'd be a illegal mod overhere, I must be sure it can be done "clean", this means: no obvious welds etc that show the guys at the car inspection this is a conversion.
And is the website finally up?

I think it looks like prettyy damn clean install prolly a little bit too clean if you were goin in for inspection it would get it a bit dirty, unless everything else is shiny there on your car aswell hah

When installed it looks about stock, all new and shiny... if you drove around in the mud a bit to dirty it up, no one would ever know unless they were REALLY into RX-7s

These guys overhere don't even see I removed all emissions/airpump/exhaust and just have RB/Mikuni. All this is illegal overhere
And everything else IS going to be shiny when I go to inspections, so no problem there.
Once the website is up, I'm going to take a good look, and probable get a kit.

I've seen it, poked at it, and played with it, but haven't driven it yet... I'll have mine (hopefully) before the end of October.

Looks AWSOME so far...

The kit is 4sale I assure you. I will do what ever it takes to get every last kit to whom ever wants one. I am very excited 4all of you who install the kit, I want everyone to have the same experience I did the 1st time I drove the "Rack equipped" car. Outfackingrageous...you will instantly become a very brave driver cause everything feels the way the it should have 20 yrs ago. The SA and FB owners will likely NEVER sell their cars now cause they will be such a joy to drive and now all drifters will be able to use the 1st gen as a new platformform for drifting. Perfect weight, handling, suspensionand now steering. I think I may just take up drifting.
