Racing Beat oil temp and pressure adaptor

This adaptor from Racing Beat looks promising.

Notice it says nothing specific about '83-'85 12A cars? However it does not have a listing for '93+ FD. It skips up to RX-8.

Has anyone here tried it yet? Any compatability issues with the beehive?

Only one FD guy has tried it so far. Now he knows why RB didn't list it for the FD. https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showthread.php?t=581626

What do you need it for?

I needed a place to hook up my oil pressure gauge on my cosmo re, i just took off the pedistal and drilled and tapped a hole in it. works fine for me.

Yeah that would probably work.

So for the beehive users, could this be the answer to effectively adapting a set of pressure and temp guages?

I posted a similar thread in the 20B section because their pedestals have a banjo bolt making any other adaptor difficult. This appears to be the solution.

For pressure, works fine, for temp, I suppose it depends on the sender's configuration/size. Most accurate/needed location would be the oil pan, imho. Like where the cold weather start sender is.

I used one similar to this from ReSpeed on my 1985 GSL so I could remove the beehive and go FMOC from a GSL-SE.

Actually, the REspeed unit is a pedestal unto itself. I'm curious about this adaptor from RB because it appears to be compatible WITH the beehive, and a 20B; both of which can not accept RB's under-the-pedestal guage adaptor, nor the REspeed unit for the 20B because it lacks a banjo bolt fitting.

Of course that's the simplified reason, and there are exceptions.

Actually we offer a unit with the banjo fitting as well as a -10 aeroquip fitting. The -10 unit was actually developed for a 20B customer yet sells very well for non-20B users.

IIRC, you wanted to use the bee-hive due to no room for a front mount. Off the top of my head I can not see why a modified version of the standard oil block would not work. It obviously would move the filter up 1". Seems to me a pair of 6MM studs 1" longer than the factory studs plus a couple of .350" OD x 6.2MM ID bushings would be all you need.

Let me know if it sounds like what you are after. I would be happy to work it up.

It has not been a year only a month and a half. I responded to your other post about this as well.

We have been in our busy part of the year. The batch that was scheduled to run before the stock ran out got bumped for some rush customer work. That scheduled batch is now running. Should be done the end of next week.

We do not back order the stuff we manufacture. If we are out of stock the website says so. This way customers are not waiting 1 or even 6 months for parts. I believe we have an excellent customer relationship business plan.

If you would like one of the next batch then please watch the website next week. You can always email or call us as well. You would be pleased with the quality of the unit.
