Racing Beat Intake/Exhaust Problem

I ordered a RB weber IDA manifold, and when i tried to install it, the bottom of it hit against the top of the RB header... Did anyone else have the same problem?

Never. I bought a 4 port 13b IDA manifold from them recently and it fits like a glove.

Thats really strange. Their stuff usually is really good for fit - at least everything Ive owned of theirs. Have any pictures? Have you talked to them yet?

I traced a line using the intake gasket with a Sharpie. There is like almost 1/2 inch to an inch of extra aluminum

Or use a hacksaw and make it fit.

Your sure its for the model engine you have? I'm guessing you have a 13B from your sig. Was the header for a 13B as well? I suspect one or the other is a 12A part, but really don't have any clue how to tell. Maybe someone can post pics of each and you can compare.

if his header was for a 12a, it wouldn't go on the studs. like already stated, contact RB. u may still have the wrong header or even intake. u probably could get by with trimming the header rather than the intake.....or even both. not really familiar with the se engine but is there an exhaust port for egr that has to be covered by the extra material on the intake?

Yeah unless someone stuck a 12a header on there by ovalling out the holes on the header. Sounds silly but I hear its been done before Still not sure it would get in the way on a 13B intake.

What is the part # for the on the mani? RB has 2 versions: 16493 for 86-92 6pt, 16492 for the GSL-SE. Not sure what the difference is, but you should talk to RB. No need to hack up a new mani unless you absolutely have to.

I suspect it is the wrong mani unless maybe you have a modified header (12A one cut to fit the 13b for example)

I talked to RB, they are suppose to trim the manifold but they didn't. They will send me a correct one.
