Wipers barley moving
I live in AZ and use the wipers about once a year. We had a little spindle and i turned them on. They seemed to work fine then I turned the off. When I turn them back on they barley can get across the window. Do any of the parts have to be oiled or are these the symptoms of a dying motor.

Banned. I got OWNED!!!
the motor is fine, grease up all the linkage joints, use wd40 to work loose the hardened grease with the wipers on, you will see them speed up as the hard grease gets loosened up

Assuming your US left hand drive cars are the same as Aussie RHD units, just swapped over...
To get my wiper assembly out from under the body work the wipers have to be about half way through their sweep cycle across the windscreen.
If you try to take the wiper assembly out when the wipers are in their normal resting/off position at the bottom of the windscreen, you can't get it out as it gets stuck on the body work.
Turn the wipers on and when they are half way through the sweep, ie/ half way up the windscreen, pull the positive terminal on your battery to stop them there.
You should now be able to get the whole unit out. It may take a few goes with the exact positioning, but you won't get the unit out when it's in it's normal resting/off position.
Have fun!
