Dang, I would have sent you $66 worth of aluminum beer cans for the bare shell. Sorry to see her go!

agreed, what an absolute waste. you don't know what us east coast guys go through with as far as rust is concerned. such a shame to shred and scrap a rust free chassis.

Yeah and add insult to injury he only got $66 for it. If there was an affordable way to ship a shell out here I'd easily pay hundreds for one...

I think the RX7 looked better than the truck it was stuffed into.

Where is the "dislike" button here. It's a downright crime to do that to a rust free body. I need most all of those rear wheel wells and floor patches. Cutting the known problem areas like floors and wheel wells, battery tray, etc. out and selling them on this website would have easily brought $300 or $400. But, it's all gone now. SMH...

Yup, without even studying the pics I can already see a dozen or more patch panels I could have used on my most recent restoration that would have saved 10's if not 100's of hours I spent fabricating my own... Oh well, it's done now.

Next time you guys out west want to scrap a shell because you're bored or it or whatever the reason is that you guys scrap these things, send me a damn email first, I might just buy it from you.... I'm serious, my email is pandafb@gmail.com

Cmon, you guys really want to dump that thing onto your lawn? There are some parts on it and I DO agree that maybe he should have done a part-out thread here and made a few more than 60 bucks before junking it, but how stoked would your neighbors be, and how pissed were the OP's neighbors? Sure it's an RX-7 and it's not rusted through, but it's also an eyesore.

If you guys really think this is a crime, lurk craigslist. I'm 100% sure you can find one in similar condition to anger your neighbors with.

Here's one. Save it!!:
1981 mazda rx7 project and lots of parts COME GET HER!!

It wouldn't be an eyesore if we built a car out of it

Didn't mean to judge, and I can certainly understand circumstances come into play that not everyone could possibly know about. It's sad that it was wrecked in the first place, and that you had to get rid of it like that. Honestly though, the first thing that popped into my head when I saw the "RIP" post in the 1st gen threads was "what the heck is this guy thinking?". Prolly another case of Ready, Fire, Aim!

Having now just seen the posts you had listing the part-out in the west section I wish it had been posted in the "1st gen parts" classified section, rather than the west. Then us east coast guys might have seen it and been able to help you out with some cashola for the body parts that are hard for us to find.

my god I have to agree with you! that poor chasis.

What have you done to her?!?

in my first gen I hit a deer a while back took out my front driver headlight and the piece of cosmetic fairing between the bumper and hood, also put a TINY dent in the front edge of the hood. I was going about 45 or so...

Point is it took me a YEAR to find replacements for the 5 pieces I had to replace... and that #$@# fairing was a total $@#$h to find... went through 10 cars at wrecking yards damn those get picked clean and fast nothing but bare bones in 24 hours here in San Jose lol
