Quick question. (Racing Beat 600 Holley)

http://racingbeat.com/FRmazda1.htm

(I'm using this for a '85 GSL-SE 13b)

Alright. I'm looking at getting one of these. I tried calling Racing beat and asking them but the service rep kept insisting on arguing with me about their engine mounting kit (wtf...) so my questioned never got answered.

My question is, since the kit eliminates the 5th & 6th port actuators, do you just completely take the sleeves and everything out? The reason I ask this is because I was thinking about sliding these http://atkinsrotary.com/store/catalo...t-p-17847.html in the aux ports.

So would these work or no?

So would you be able to leave them stuck in the open position? Or would that interfere with the manifold?

Well I guess it wouldn't matter. I'll just take the sleeves out and be done with it.

As best I remember they sit flush with the iron, shouldn't touch but idk how you're gonna keep them open.

if u want better air flow use the atkin sleeve. use a little silicone to keep them from rotating

That's what I was thinking about doing. But I think i'm going to just keep it simple and take it out.

I ran my SA with a 13B (SE) with no actuators. I bought the manifold, installed Pineapple inserts( I just slid them in there) I never ran a stock SE 13B so im not sure what I lost nor gained but the butt dyno noticed a difference! lol

You might lose low end torque (??? Can't verify how considerable since I didn't run it both ways) by not having working sleeves but change your driving habits and you'll be fine. I had a Dellorto on a S4 motor with pineapple sleeves consistantly open.

Peppy little setup, only thing I didn't like was if another driver taunted you while stopped at a light or something of the sort, the sound of keeping the rpms up where it'll take off best is a dead give away your game. Other then that, I'd go back to that setup in heartbeat.

When we put the sleeves in I put a small smear of jb weld to hold them in place. Just thin enough to hold them in position, but not tooo much where I was still able to remove them again down the line.

yeah. i understand the loss at low end torque but i wont miss it if i stay in the mid range and above where the rotary is happy. i think i'm going to invest in these sleeves.
