Exclamation Quick electrical question... (switched 12v)

This is on a 1983 GS

Alright, I need some help finding a switched 12v source behind the center console.. I have the 83 wiring diagram but really for the life of me cannot make 100% sense of it. I also did some searching and dug up this thread: https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...ed+12v+console

The third post in that thread says that the blue/white wires running to the components should be switched 12v but that was based off the 84 wiring diagram.. Not sure if it's the same for 83. If someone could varify that the blue/white wires are the ones I should be looking at that would be aweome.

Also the car does not have a battery at the moment so I can't check for myself w/ a multimeter

the best way to find one is just put a battery in it. i also have a meter but when searching for a 12v source i just use a test light.

Alright, well after a good night sleep and some water to hydrate my brain, I think I have this wiring diagram figured out.

Here's the legend for '83:

And if you look at 'J' - Audio System, it looks like I can use the LR (blue/red):

Yes, Blue/red wire in plug J-04 is switched power for the stock stereo. Red/green in that plug is parking/illumination lights. Blue/yellow in J-06 is constant 12v (single wire plug).

Awesome. This will work perfect as I do not have a radio installed. Thanks for the clarification 74RX4
