Questions about lights and air cleaners

Alright ;
On cardomain I saw a 1st gen. rx7 that had unique headlights. Sorry no pic... closed window before i saved it. But i will try to describe as best i can.... So the normal headlights pop all the way up, i think they are called "barn door" type lights or whatever... well these popped like halfway up and had 2 smaller lights on each side. I really liked how they made the side profile look, more sleek and sporty.
1st question:
Is there any way to make the original headlights stop halfway up on their track? Any other ideas on how to do this?
I know some1 will dissagree with this mod but I like it....(i also have the blue indigo gauge lights everyone rags about...but dont tell ne1.)

2nd question:
The air cleaner: i want to get a new carb and all with a nice rlooking and more efficient air cleaner... like a chrome one with the 260 degrees of intake..... but what happens to the 6 or 7 hoses that connect tot he original air cleaner housing? is this the rats nest everyone talks about?

Sorry for all teh typing but thanks in advance.....
