Question about Z spring on front brake pads

I’m in the process of putting new brakes on my SE and I can’t recall how the Z shaped spring is supposed to go on the front pads. I’ve attached a pic of how I think it should go. Is this correct?

Also, am I correct that only the front pads have this spring?

The spring should be anchored on the piston side, but there should be a hole in the backing plate, not in the pad area. Check the other pads in the set.

Hey @j_tso ! Thanks for the reply! Yeah, my new pads don’t have a hole in any of them. I can drill one easily enough with my drill press. I’ll just use the old one as a template. Thanks again!

Yeah, maybe you have rear pads on the front but what @t_jso said. Where did you get them? Curious so I can avoid next time I get pads.

They’re not the same size. Rear pads are smaller.
