Angry squeeking brakes!

i got new hawk HPS+ pads, my stock pads didnt have the shims on them so i didnt have any to put on, i put the spring on correctly but it still squeeks, but the funny thing was when i had the spring off it didnt squeek, but it clears just fine, doesnt rub against the rotor, what could it be?!!?!

Did you use and brake anti-squeek when you put the plate on the pad?

If you didn't chances are that you got some dirt in there

No, there's this gooey substance called brake anti-squeal that you put on the backs of the brake pads before you install them.&nbsp Any local auto parts store should have this.&nbsp The ones I see the most are orange goo in transluscent squeeze bottles - pretty small, about a few ounces each.
