A question about links...

I got my links working again.

I'm concerned as the problem is that "/forum" has been taken out of the addresses. Does this mean every old link to other threads on the forum has also been messed up?

yup! looks like it does screw up all the links. This should be fixable on the server side. I'll talk with BOOSTD7 about how to do it.

yep! they're all hosed... along with the links to any images or files uploaded to the forum...

This has been brought up in the thread linked in the sticky (of course, you have to take /forum out of that link o get it to work anyway...)

but not addressed yet.

Honestly, what would be the reasoning behind changing the paths in the first place? Speed was the issue, not structure.

I think there was a need to enter in a general pathway, and they simply forgot to type "/forum".
-An ***-kicking type-o, that's all.

Actually, server-side, it really is as simple as setting the domain path. Should take someone with access to the server all of 30 seconds depending on server config.

I'm work'n with BOOSTD7 on this. Sometime tonight we'll add a mod_redirect rule into the apache config and everyone will suddenly be happy.

thanks, inittab. I was going to sniff the server to find out what it was on and then offer my services, but it appears it isn't necessary now
