Question about Clutch

I am looking to replace my clutch for my 84 gsl. It's all stock, so it still has the 12a.

Someone is selling the clutch disc, pressure plate and flywheel from an 1990 GXL. will this fit my car?

let me know.

83-91 N/A are all 225mm and the pressure plate should fit. no need to change the stock flywheel. check mazdatrix website for reference tho.

But exedy....IMHO ITS A JUNK.

It will bolt on, but the counter weights are different.

nah the couterweights are built into the stock flywheels. You can get an aftermarket flywheel (non weighted) and a couterweight from an automatic car of your year.

i'm sorry, but isn't the counterweight on the front of the engine, just behind the front cover? and you'd have to match the counterweight with the flywheel ...

I'll try to clarify a bit.

There is a front counterweight and a rear counterweight. The rear counterweight is built into the flywheel on manual transmission cars, but is separate from the flexplate on automatic transmission cars. Aftermarket flywheels are radialy symmetrical, so the use of a rear counterweight from an automatic car is necessary.
