yea its a regular bolt, just on there real forking tight. i had to cheat and turn up the boost on my air compressor for the impact to take it off. i used some pb blaster on it too, that helps alot.

As for the clutch pedal, if the engine is still in the car, press the clutch pedal, and wedge a board in place to hold it down. Leave the pedal depressed the entire time you have the front hub loose. This helps to prevent the thrust bearings from falling. If they fall, you WILL be pulling the engine, and completely disassembling it, just to replace them.

its actually a torrington(im pretty sure i spelled that no where near to correct) bearing. wedging the clutch pedal shoves the e-shaft all the way forward(it only moves a few thounds of an inch) to keep it from falling out of place. if it falls you have to pull the front cover it put it back in place,if you dont it gets ruined.considering your pulling the front cover anyway im sure what the procedure would be.
