I know the piece he's talking about cuz I broke mine when I had my tranny out. It's an oddly-shaped piece of rubber in a half-moon key configuration. I have no idea where I'd go about getting one. The hole is fairly small - you could seal it up with silicon if you felt so-inclined.

I would guess that the dealership could order you one. It's probably in the parts fiche. If you're so inclined, www.mazdamotorsports.com has the parts fiche online for all RX-7's, you could look up the part number yourself. I've found that the parts departments at Mazda dealerships are generally run by lobotomized monkeys, so having the number does save some headaches.

Here in Calgary, Mazda pretty much refuses to order parts for the first gens now. They say they only go back to 86. You don't have that problem in Saskatoon Moses?

Parts are still readily available for 1st gens and the dealer here in Saskatoon has no problem taking my money. The wait time is generally a week and some more esoteric parts are starting to become unavailable, but most stuff is still easy to get. If you're from the states, the best route is to participate in two Solo II events a year and qualify for racer status with www.mazdamotorsports.com. Their prices are a lot less than dealers and the don't give you any flak. Shipping to Canada is kinda expensive, but if I ever need something, it's good to know that I can get it.

Yeah I guess my money's no good to them Moses. Losers really. I still can order through them but only because there's one guy I know who does it anyways despite the "official" policy.
