Putting an S5 Engine in a '79 SA
I figure this has probably been beaten to death, but I have searched high and low for information on how to put an 86-87 13B with Turbo (i'm assuming an s5), in a 100% stock SA.
Mostly, I'm just wondering if it's really worth it, and if it is, what are the things that I have to do (just a list, not juicy details at this point). My alternative is to rebuild my 12A.

Well I can't say whether it is totally worth it as of now since I'm still in the tuning process. But if you think about the numbers you gain it seems worth it if you have the time and money.
Things to get:
89-91 Factory Service Manual (or print out the Emissions part online)
Engine (thus meaning the manifolds too)
All the misc. engine parts (PCV, BAC, CAS, Injectors, etc)
GSL-SE Oil Pan
You can either use a 12A or GSL-SE front cover, since you arn't going with a S4
89-91 (get the correct model) ECU
Pass. engine harness
Either get the Driver engine harness or its ECU plug (you are going to be cutting this one to make it more simple)
Better fuel pump
Underhood Fuse box
Coils and Ignitors
Fuel Pump regulator
Starter
Flywheel
Clutch
Pressure plate
Waterpump
New filters
Other people can add to the list but those are pretty much the main parts you need if you are starting from scratch. If you are getting a long block, make sure you start crossing off the stuff that you have with the list.

I am also building a S5 N/A. Instead of doing the oil pan and front cover, you can swap the front suspension like I am doing. The front sub frame (sway bar, steering, strut mounts, a-arms) from the second gen cars is very similar to the first gen. It has the advantages of rack and pinion steering, bigger brakes, and having the engine mounts for second gen 13b. See the thread here for the beginning of my project.
