Put Power FC in my Turbo 82!!

I did my S-5 T2 swap nearly two years ago. Full motor and tranny swap all S-5 parts. Anyways I finally got it all sorted out and running strong this summer. In October it Dynoed 249 at 10 psi. Then I ran across Banzairacing's how to on putting a FD power fc into S-5 turbo 7. All and all it was pretty straight forward, even easier for me, because I am notting running emissions..

The best part is I got to get rid of the electric oil metering pump and the air flow meter, I was on my third stock ecu because of the god dam electric omp. So I gathered the parts all used, except for the FD ait sensor,. The pfc, commander, fd map sensor, fd ait sensor, and fd ignitor, and you can use the stock S-5 harness, it takes a little repinning but no big deal. I started tearing everything out on new years day and had it running on the 6th. The most time consuming project was wiring in the FD ignitor, the pfc wont work with the fc trailing ignitor, so you have to use the fd ignitor pack. Other than that pretty straight forward stuff.

I have an appointment next Saturday for a tuning session at Ground Zero in Portland, I just put in 1000's in the secondaries and moved the 750's down to the primaries. So I am safe to like 400 flywheel horse power, I wont be close to that, but easier to tune it down, than up. Anyways, I thought some one might be interested in the swap.

wow thats cool. There are a ton of people that want to go power fc on thier 2nd gens so I'm sure this will help them. I remember this on teamfc3s.org and thought how important this would be to alot of fc owners who want to run power fc.

I bought the hood from fibre maz via ebay last spring, before he started making them over here or not, Not really sure what he is doing.. I have already had to repair it in a couple of spots., not really happy about that.

The S-5 electric omp if it goes bad it will put your ecu into limp mode, if it goes really bad, it will fire the ecu, I didn't have a cel wired up and it went bad, really bad, twice. That is one of the main reasons for going standalone.

ive seen this a couple of times, theres a way for the omp to fail where it becomes the ground for everything, and it usually fries the ecu, and omp, then if you're unlucky the harness too

Exactly, thank you,

The hood, the metal bar that latches it down to the fire wall popped out, The underside frame started to seperate from the hood side, I could go on for a whille yet. Suprisingly enough the clear coat is the best part of the hood.

The omp fried one ecu, I didn't know it went bad, no cel. Put in a second ecu yup fried that one to. So then I figured out it was the electric omp. So now I am on my third ecu and second omp. Just gave me back up omp to a buddy because his was acting up and sending the car into limp mode. But not a problem anymore, the pfc can go either way.

Have you brought this up with FiberMaz (13beef)? So that the next ones wouldn't have this issue?

Yes I did mention it to him, pretty much his attitude was oh well, **** happens, Glue it back down with sitka flex, also when I bought the hood off of e bay, he didn't mention it was a used hood, I assumed it was new, that is just as much my fault for not asking, as it is his for not listing it as such. You know what this thread is going off topic, its about putting a cheap and easy to tune standalone into a rotary, not about ricing out your car, with aftermarket non performing parts. If no one else objects, back to the power fc.
