Pushbutton Starter (pic)
the best way to do the keyles thing is the immobilisers with the keypad. have a 6 digit pin code and then flick ya switches to start the car. Ive been looking into if for ages now, just havent had the time or effort to do it yet

that sounds pretty cool James...
but back me up here...
you wont be able to start the car without pressing the button on the remote immobilizer first
so unless you can bypass the immoblizer (which can be donbe with cheapo ones.. but this ones got about 50black wires comming out from it) you wont be able to start it..

ok, i looked today and the wires do change color after the looms....thats stupid!! but i guess that the mazda way "why use metric or SAE when we can use BOTH!!!!" ok i think this will go now...darkfrost what size wire did ya use?
To anyone that thinks starting a car wired up like Bolox has explained, is easy (ripping out the immobiliser, shorting out the exact wires needed without popping any fuses)
Heres how to hotwire a key-ignition car with no immbiliser:
remove cowling (preferably with screwdriver, failing that, use your foot)
Twist some wire around the contacts of the ignition, but not the one that spins the motor over (a few seconds fiddling will find out which one that is)
Touch the starter contact to the other contacts (which are now all connected)
Voilla - one hotwired car!
The way to make it REALLY awkward for them, is when you cut all the obvious power sources - like the wires going to the ignition switch

you dont need any keys!!! hell you dont even need a car or a tranny just a battery and a little yellow button. take apart the steering column to get at the steering wheel lock. I just got through tuning that bug engine on the ground. gotta love powdercoating
green arrows are: IGn switch, starter switch hidden under aluminum dash, fuse for IGn, yellow starter button for floor starting.

i have a red (ignited) one mounted where the audio joystick is. i took out the joystick cuz it was no longer needed. btw, i didnt like the illumination cuz it is way too bright @ night.

Hmm this brings me back to what I am wanting to do. push button start with my fuel pump power switch beside it. My swith in my car dosnt turn off my car anyway so I am just gonna turn off the power to the pump to turn off the car. Is this a bad Idea. Anyone have any objections to this.

Oj I just had another idea. Get one of those blank mercedes flip keys, the ones that you hit a button on and the key comes out from the plastic piece and have it ground to fit the 7. A push button and a cool key. I can so be in the next fast and the furious movie. JK I kinda like the idea though. anyone else besides me.
