NC pulling rear transmission seal

I've been trying to pull the tail shaft seal on the rear of the transmission and I'm having no luck. The output shaft doesn't leave much room to work with, and I'm afraid to put any kind of pressure at all on that shaft. I've managed to tear it up pretty good and that's about it. I have a seal puller, and also made my own tool, neither of which has been successful. Am I just being too gentle with it or what? Any suggestions please?

Thanks-

Tap a slim flathead screwdriver inbetween the seal edge and the actual transmission on the outside. Once you get it to out a bit move around the seal and go to a bigger flathead screwdrivers. Hope it makes sense. Works for me everytime. Good luck.
