Proper Way to Tow a 7?

How to get it onto the flatbed more specifically? In my experience the towing co always wants to use the tie-down loop. I always stop them & make them hook to the rear axel. What do you do?

I personally would hook it to the tow hook. I would much rather have it breaking off than the rear end.

Theres 2 little loops located under the rear bumper on each side of the car. One is facing so you can look through the hole from the rear of the car, the other is facing 90 degrees in comparison. Look above the muffler area and oposite to that on the other side of the car.

My SA22 has that setup, not sure on the later FB's.

The "tie-down" I'm referring to is the horizontal loop on driver’s left projecting from under the bumper. Is this for towing?

yes and there are 3 others that match it. Just look around for rust to make sure it's safe. That how I trailored my car. a place we hook to on the race car for the front is the tension rods seems to work, wouldn't recommend it because of the extra wear and tear on the bushings though.

Are these "tow hooks" or "tie down hooks"? Tie downs are used for stabilizing during shipping. If you tow from them do you risk bending body parts? You tow much?

they're tow hooks.....If it's a reputable company, they'll know how to strap it, places around here do......Hell, then just go out and buy teh ones that fit around your tires....

In my opinion there is no proper way to tow a 7...but I'd just roll it up on a two wheel dolly and tow it home that way.

U use all four factory tow hooks to tie it down. That way the car's suspension is loaded and the rx7 will not sway or rock as much. Makes it easier to control. And it reduces wear and tear on the shocks and bushings, since the car won't move up and down.

Use an X pattern when tying them down. Reduces left to right movement of car in addition to up and down movement.
