Proper Ignition setup for 12a???
Hi All,
Im in the process of upgrading the ignition setup on my 85. Im 15 years old and just starting to get the hang of working on cars. I've been reading that the MSD Blaster 2 coils are a good upgrade that you can just swap out with the old ones. If i do this, is there anything else that i need besides the coils, like ignition boxes??? Or is there a completely diff. setup that is easier and more efficient??

Proper ignition is all in how you look at it, and how much moolah you got to throw around.
Personally I went with MSD6T and a 2nd gen coil with no leading.
Variety of options:
Various Ignition boxes (MSD, Crane, Summit, etc)
Upgraded coils (2nd gen coil, MSD blasters, etc)
Spark plugs (stock, 2nd gen NA, etc)
Leads (NGK, Mazda, AC Delco, MSD, etc)
Cheapest would be to get a 2nd gen coil and use that as your leading coil, helps idle and
faster starting.
